From The Director
Did you know that fewer than 10 percent of America’s preschools have gained accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)? Compass Christian Preschool is the ONLY “preschool” in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake that is NAEYC accredited. Some schools claim to follow NAEYC guidelines but they do not take the extra step to seek accreditation. Most parents either don’t know about preschool accreditation, or they don’t think it matters in the grand scheme of things.
But it should matter – or, at the very least, be a blip on your radar. Accreditation is the standard in grading a preschool for quality of care. Over time, quality can drop and schools can grow complacent. That’s why NAEYC has upped the ante on their accreditation standards. They now have more stringent guidelines for facility design, staff qualifications, programming, health and safety, physical environment and administration.
At Compass Christian Preschool, we go above and beyond to make sure our children are safe and are receiving the highest quality early childhood education possible. We have a certified playground inspector that comes once a year to check our large motor play areas both inside and outside to ensure we meet or exceed the national safety guidelines. We have a local pediatrician with whom we consult on various health issues and concerns both school wide and for individual children. Our teachers and staff have to meet guidelines on education levels, training and curriculum that is offered. The process of keeping CCP accredited with the National Association for the Education of Young Children is time consuming and expensive but we feel it is vitally important so that we can provide your children the best early childhood education.

– What elementary school the students will attend (for children in the Four-Year-Old Classes)
