From the Director
Many of you have asked about Team Kason Day and the tee shirts that some of the staff and students wear on this day. Kason Gabbard and his twin brother are the children of Chris Gabbard, one of the pastors at Compass Church. Kingston is currently attending Compass Preschool and we pray that someday Kason can join him. Chris and his wife Michelle also have an older daughter Hannah, who attended the preschool.
The shirts are not only a way for all of us to show our support for Kason and his family but the sale of the shirts helps fund many therapies and equipment that he needs that is not covered by insurance. Below is an explanation of Kason’s struggles written by his father, Chris –
My name is Kason Christopher Gabbard. I am 21 months old. I have an older sister and an identical twin brother. I was born on February 12, 2012 at 6:58am. I spent 24 days in the NICU. I worked with my brother on eating well, maintaining my body temperature and keeping my oxygen levels up. On day 23 of my life, after a routine head ultrasound, the Doctors informed my parents that they found cysts on my brain. I have been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. I also have Cortical Vision Impairment. CP effects my motor skills such as sitting up, standing, and walking. CVI effects the information transmitted from my healthy eyes to my brain.
Team Kason is a group of family, friends, and strangers from all over who support, pray and love on me to see that I #nvrgive^
God created me on purpose. He makes no mistakes. Watch what He does.
This is – My Journey. My Story.
If you would like to purchase a Team Kason t-shirt please see Laura in the preschool office. You can also follow his amazing progress on his Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/teamkason.

Spring into music! Music is a wonderful way to develop self expression. I encourage all families to explore the world of music by making up funny dances or forming your own band. This month, the music classes will be using all those instruments we explored earlier to form a band. Old MacDonald’s farm has been taken over by drums, sticks, triangles, and much, much more. The Fours will be learning their songs for the spring program on May 8th at 6:30 pm
