Note from the Director
It is hard to believe this is the last newsletter of the school year. The next few weeks we will be busy getting some of our students ready to leave us for kindergarten and spending quality time with each of them. It is always bittersweet to see the children leave for the summer, as we have spent the year watching them grow and learn new things. During staff meeting we laughed about the fact that they seldom remember us but we will always remember them, their little hugs and the things they do and say to make us laugh.
Summer months can be challenging for some families. It is best to keep a routine if possible as children need to know what their days will be like. Take them to the park, visit a museum, go to the library and most of all simply cherish this time together. When you are around swimming pools please be alert, it seems there is always a news story about a child drowning. My heart stops when I hear those stories and I just begin to pray for the family and hope that it is not one of our babies. If you child does not know how to swim please invest in swim lessons, there are multiple options in our area. My children took through the city of Hurst and it was very reasonable in price.
Enjoy your summer and be safe, we will see you at Summer Camp or in the fall.
This camp will be taught by Compass Christian Preschool staff and is only open to currently enrolled students who are fully potty trained. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis as spots are limited.
We will spend the summer learning about God’s Amazing Creations. The campers will participate in numerous hands on science, math and cooking activities, as well as fun games and art activities.
Completed forms are due back with the non-refundable application fee of $25 per child by Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Families who enroll two or more currently enrolled students will receive a discount of $25 per child for the second and third child. There are seven three-day sessions of Camp which are $100.00 per session. You can enroll in as many sessions as you would like.
Full payment for each camp session is due by Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

The 4s are working hard preparing for their spring program, “Adventure Awaits” on May 19th at 6:30 pm. I am so excited to share their talents with all of you. The 1s, 2s, and 3s continue to have lots of fun in music class trying out new instruments and singing their favorite songs from earlier in the year.Have you ever wondered about the importance of music to a child’s development? Or what are the benefits of listening to different kinds of music? Did you realize when you were in the car with your child singing at the top of your lungs while your little one sways back and forth and clapping their hands with excitement that you were teaching your child about language, motor, cognitive and social skills? This summer try to include as much music as you can in your schedule. We are blessed to live in an area that provides so many musical opportunities for families. Singing, listening to music, or banging on an instrument stimulates a child’s brain, helps them increase their motor skills and self-awareness and also helps improve their attention span. So the next time you are looking for something fun to do with your child, just turn on some music and dance or make your own music and sing!
