From the Director

Welcome to Compass Christian Preschool! We are so excited to have you become a part of our Compass Family. At CCP, our goal is to bring your child closer to God by providing them a well-rounded education. Part of your child’s success depends on us working together as a team. You can help make the transition to school easier by making sure your child gets enough sleep, has a healthy breakfast and arrives to school by 9am. Please know if you ever have any questions or concerns, we are always here for you. Parenting can be hard sometimes and we want to make it as stress free as possible. Below are some links about starting school, nutrition and sleep requirements for preschool children. We look forward to being part of your child’s life. God Bless all of you!

The Adventures of Young Shep: Young Shep Saves the Game by Ashleigh Shepard, Sterling Shepard

When Sterling “Young Shep” Shepard finds a pair of shoes in a trash can, little does he know they’re magical! He can catch every pass and run faster than ever. But at the big championship game, his shoes break! Will Young Shep still be able to lead his team to victory? NFL player Sterling Shepard teams up with his sister Ashleigh for a fun story about believing in yourself.

Musical Notes

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!   My name is Ms. Suzanne and I get the wonderful opportunity to teach music to all the children at the preschool. Just as all children are born with the potential to learn their native language; all children are born with the potential to learn to understand music.  It is important to expose our children to different styles of music to develop their musical ear.  Each month, I select songs from around the world that closely follow the monthly curriculum for dancing, singing, and instrument play.  Every class has an opportunity to play on instruments during rhythm time and the Bebop Band.   Learning to play our rhythm instruments together promotes physical coordination, attention span, and community.  Each month, you can look forward to hearing new songs and learning all about the instruments that we are playing.  This month, in the 1s, 2s, and 3s, we are learning how to use our hands to clap and make music. The 4s are learning to keep with the beat and TK is exploring rhythms using rhythm sticks.  If you are happy and you know it, clap your hands!
