Dear Compass Christian Preschool Families,
“Sometimes God lets you be in a situation that only He can fix so that you can see that He is the One who fixes it. Rest. He’s got it.” – Tony Evans
I pray that you will join me in asking God to bless our world and protect the health and safety of all God’s children. I pray that we may slow the spread of this virus, discover a cure for the sick, develop a vaccine for those lucky enough to avoid infection, and protect our frontline healthcare workers and others who are putting themselves at risk in order to mitigate this unprecedented emergency.
Preschool leadership and I have been in constant communication with the church as the situation has progressed. Thus, the preschool and church are in the same boat when it comes knowing and anticipating the day-to-day development of public health orders and mitigation protocols: we have no way of knowing what is coming next. For now we plan on resuming school on April 21, 2020 per GCISD starting on April 20th. Some of you have left messages for us at the preschool. In the middle of this epidemic, we have had some technology issues and it has affected our voicemail. We will continue to update you as things change via email and Facebook. If you don’t follow us on Facebook, please join us as our teachers and staff will be posting videos for our students and families.
We are asking that you hold your tuition payments for April and we will prorate the month for you. Some of our families have not paid for March tuition. This will need to be paid before we return to school, all late fees will be waived. March tuition is being used to pay our staff through March 20, 2020 and for their time sending weekly newsletters, communicating with families, making videos for Facebook and preparing for their children to return through April 21, 2020. If you would like to donate money to help support our staff during this time, please make sure you indicate that it is a donation and not tuition so we can give you the appropriate tax write off forms. We will inform you at a later date what your tuition amounts for April will be. If GCISD extends their school year, we will follow their lead and adjust summer camp opportunities.
If you or your family are in need of resources-food, hygiene products, medical supplies, assistance with paying bills, please let me know. You all are so incredibly special to me, and I want the best for your families. Know that not only do I love you with all my heart, but Compass Christian Church loves you too. We have already donated some of our supplies to Tarrant County Home Nurses and were able to get baby wipes to GRACE. I am holding enough back for us to start back again, but these supplies have blessed our community already. Please go to www.mycompasschurch.com for information about our online worship opportunities.
In closing, thank you for those of you that have prayed for me and reached out to me the last few weeks. The last few weeks have truly been a blur; life has certainly changed for all of us. From Tuesday, March 17th – 22nd I was in the hospital with some kind of stomach illness, that left me extremely dehydrated and lowered my potassium levels–leading to complications with my heart. This physical distress left me with few memories from those 5 days, but I certainly know that I was unaware of what was taking place in the outside world. My sister did not want to tell me about the public health crisis while I was “sleeping,” and I now see why. I was able to get Sara home from Boston and Nick home from Austin, so my mommy heart is happy. Please know that I love each of your children like my own and I am praying for all of you every day.
