We will be learning about ‘Similarity Awareness’ Identifying Our Similarities, Despite Our Differences.
Wear Blue
The “Light it Up Blue” campaign is a global initiative to help raise awareness and shine a bright light on Autism as a growing public health crisis. Main Campus students are invited to wear blue on Tuesday, March 28th. Compass Center students are invited to wear blue the whole week during their assigned week. Photo Booth
Main Preschool Campus: Please come by The Main Campus between March 28th and 30th, 2023 and take a picture at our Autism Awareness photo area, we will have fun props. If you use social media, post your photos with the hashtag # LIUB to be a part of the global Autism Awareness movement.
Compass Center Preschool Campus: Between April 4th and 6th Pre-K teachers will be taking pictures of their students at our Autism Awareness photo area, we will have fun props. They will send parents the pictures and if you wish you can post your child’s photos with the hashtag # LIUB to be a part of the global Autism Awareness movement.
Donations
To increase awareness about Autism, Autism Speaks has created “Kids and Coins for Autism,” an initiative where we can collect coins to help those affected by Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Past donations have helped Autism Speaks fund initiatives and research. Buckets will be out to collect coins at each location during their assigned week. Each campus will have a pizza party for the class that raises the most donations!
